In a "brick and mortar" book store I can thumb through as much as I need to before deciding whether to buy the book, but that does not make it easy to pick out a number of books out of the whole store full.
When most books are only read by people who like the genre and most people rate any book that they enjoyed as 5 stars out of 5 stars, book ratings have lost most of their usefulness in picking out books to read. But I would still rate the overall effect as a nine star effort. If Amazon used a ten star scale to rate books, I could easily consider the plot a solid ten and find that the narration was perhaps a seven compared to the author's usually eight star or occasionally nine star writing skill. Unfortunately the narration was not as good as this author usually is. The story in this book is 5 stars! Easily! Best paced, most engaging story line that I have read in a while, and I read a lot of books by a lot of good authors, both modern and classic.

Some experts say the honeymoon phase of a marriage lasts for about six months, but they didn’t take murder into account!
